LAWRENCE CHEVROLET TO SPONSOR WILLIAMS
GROVE SPRINT DIVISION
MECHANICSBSURG, PA -- Lawrence Chevrolet is the new title sponsor of the
sprint car division at Williams Grove Speedway for 2010.
Thanks to Lawrence Chevrolet the championship team will collect $20,000 at
season’s end.
Lawrence Chevrolet, located at 6445 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg, has been
serving the mid-state area for 29 years and has been associated with local dirt
track racing for almost as long.
The Lawrence family was involved with Silver Spring
Speedway and the sportsman division in various capacities, but this is their
first foray into sprint car sponsorship at Williams Grove.
“I’ve been attending the races at Williams Grove for many years and it
seems like a good fit for our dealership to be associated with the area’s top
sprint car program, “said Gary Lawrence.
“We’re very pleased to have a local business like Lawrence Chevrolet
backing our sprint car division and once again making it possible for our
championship team to earn $20,000,” said Justin Loh, the speedway’s general
manager. “We’re looking forward to a long and successful relationship with Gary
Lawrence and his staff.”
Sponsorships for the other divisions that compete regularly at Williams
Grove have also been announced.
Tool Shed of America will sponsor the 358 c.i. sprint division this season
following their initial involvement with the super sportsman class last year.
Blazer’s Body Shop has assumed sponsorship of the sportsman division, the
headline attraction for the Saturday Night Series.
The Saturday night late models will be sponsored by Tattooed Mom, a
restaurant located on South Street in Philadelphia, owned by Williams Grove’s
Kathy Hughes.
L.B. Smith Ford returns as the street stock sponsor and John Wentzel’s Body
Shop will once again back the 4-cylinder division.
Williams Grove Speedway will open the 2010 season on Friday evening, March
19, at 7:30, with sprint cars and 358 c.i. sprints on the card.
