$5.00 ADMISSION ON SATURDAY, APRIL 24,
AT WILLIAMS GROVE
MECHANICSBSURG, PA -- The Saturday Night Series returns to Williams Grove
Speedway on April 24 with a 4-division card featuring super sportsman, 358 late
models, street stocks and 4-cylinder stock cars, all for a general admission
price of just five dollars.
The series opened the 2010 Saturday night season on April 10 with a
combined total of 97 cars in the pit area for the four divisions, and even more
cars are expected this week. Since the street stocks and 4-cylinder teams have
had two weeks to prepare their cars, the pit log could very well top the century
mark on Saturday night.
The five dollar admission price again this week remains the best bargain in
area dirt track racing.
The first heat is scheduled to start at 6:30.
Newville veteran Russ Mitten is off to a great start in the Grove’s super
sportsman division. Mitten finished second to Paul Miller on opening night,
then came back to win the 20-lap feature on April 17. It was his third career
victory at the Grove.
Craig Wagaman has been impressive in 358 late model competition with a pair
of runnerup finishes in the first two races. He finished behind Bobby Beard in
the season opener and defending champion Gene Knaub in week two.
The Saturday Night Series will be idle on May 1 before returning with an
open wheel special on May 8.
At that time the super sportsman cars will be joined by the ARDC midgets
and the 305 -sprints.
The May 8 program will also start at 6:30.
