ALL STAR SPRINTS AND ARDC MIDGETS APRIL 30 AT WILLIAMS GROVE

MECHANICSBURG, PA -- An attractive open wheel double header is set for Friday evening, April 30, when the All Star Circuit of Champions sprint car division and the ARDC midgets will visit Williams Grove Speedway.
Qualifying is scheduled to begin at 7:30.
The All Star event will be the first test of the season for the Grove regulars, also known as the Pennsylvania Posse, against a group of invaders.
The All Stars first sanctioned a race at Williams Grove 40 years ago and have made a total of 20 stops at this historic half mile.
The Posse has been at its absolute best against this touring organization and have prevented an All Star car from ever finding victory lane at Williams Grove Speedway.
Last year Todd Shaffer and Cody Darrah each won sanctioned races pushing the Posse’s record to a perfect 20-0 versus the All Stars at Williams Grove.
That could change on April 30, however, since the All Stars boast two of the most respected drivers in sprint car racing.  Defending series champion Tim Shaffer of Aliquippa, Pa., and Dale Blaney if Fowler, Ohio, are two ex-Outlaws who have proven that they can win anywhere against any competition.
Shaffer, in fact, owns a World of Outlaws victory at Williams Grove and Blaney, a former All Star champion, has won some of sprint car racing’s major races including Eldora Speedway’s Historic Big One and the King’s Royal.
Five-time Williams Grove champion Lance Dewease tops all drivers with three All Star victories at his home track.
April 30 will be the first Grove appearance of the year for the wingless midgets of ARDC.  Steve Buckwalter, a Friday night sprint car competitor at the speedway throughout the season, is expected to do double duty since he is also one of the top midget racers in the East.
