THREE STATE FLYERS LATE MODELS PLUS SPRINTS APRIL 9

MECHANICSBURG, PA -- The Three State Flyers Super Late Model Series will stop at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday evening, April 9, when the powerful late models will be featured along with the Williams Grove sprint cars.
The Tri-State area’s top late model drivers are expected to be at Williams Grove to compete for a solid purse which offers $3000 to win the 35-lap feature and $300 to start.
Late model drivers will draw for starting positions for the ten-lap qualifying heats, which will be followed by a dash and a B-main.
There will be no time trials.
Throughout the course of the season, the Three State Flyers Super Late Model Series will make stops at Maryland’s Hagerstown, Potomac and Cumberland Speedways along with Winchester and Natural Bridge Speedways in Virginia and Pennsylvania’s Bedford, Heston and Thunder Valley Speedways in addition to Williams Grove.
The visiting race teams will have to be at the top of their game to beat Jason Covert, who won the only previous late model feature run at Williams Grove this season.  It was Covert’s third victory at the Grove since 2007 including a memorable triumph over NASCAR star Kyle Busch last year.
Daryl Hills, Dan Stone, Gary Stuhler and Brian Booze followed Covert across the line on March 26.
The sprint car races will be lined up according to the speedway’s handicapping system on April 9, which means bonuses and lap money will be offered, making it possible for a driver to win more than $4700 for a victory in the 25-lap feature.  The base winner’s share is $3600.
Points will also be awarded toward the Lawrence Chevrolet track championship.  Fred Rahmer and Greg Hodnett appear to be among the early favorites to make a run at the title.
The first heat is scheduled to start at 7:30 on April 8, and general admission for this special program is just $18.
