SATURDAY NIGHT SERIES MAY 22 -- CONSISTENT PERIGO POINT LEADER

MECHANICSBURG, PA -- It’s a well-known racing fact that consistency wins championships, and consistency has placed Carmen Perigo, Jr. atop the Blazer’s Body Shop super sportsman point standings at Williams Grove Speedway.
After three races in this year’s Saturday Night Series, Perigo has not finished outside the top six.  He was third on April 10, sixth a week later and fourth on May 8, making him the only sportsman driver to finish in the top ten in each of the first three races.
The Stoystown veteran will have an opportunity to extend that streak on May 22 when the Saturday Night Series returns to Williams Grove Speedway with a 4-division program featuring 358 c.i. late models, street stocks and 4-cylinder stock cars in addition to the sportsman class.
Racing is scheduled to begin at 6:30.
Consistency earned Perigo his first Williams Grove sportsman championship last year when he put together a division leading seven top-five finishes.
Although Perigo failed to win a feature during his championship season, he did manage a couple of runnerup efforts and a third place finish.  He owns three career sportsman victories at Williams Grove, but his last came nearly three years ago during the 2007 season.  That losing streak could come to an end on May 22.
The defending champion will have plenty of competition from drivers such as Paul Miller, Russ Mitten and Scott Dellinger, who have already visited victory lane this year.
The late model and 4-cylinder teams haven’t raced at the Grove in more than a month, so they should be out in force on May 22.
The Saturday Night Series will close the month of May with another 4-division program on the 29th starting at 6:30.
