OUTLAW TUNEUP PLUS 358s MAY 7 AT WILLIAMS GROVE

MECHANICSBURG, PA -- The sprint car racers who compete regularly at Williams Grove Speedway will have one more opportunity on Friday evening, May 7, to prepare for the season’s first World of Outlaws invasion.
The season’s first Outlaw Tuneup will give the local drivers another shot at setting up their cars for time trials, an integral part of World of Outlaws racing.  Time trials will set the lineups on May 7 and the feature race will be 30 laps, the usual distance for World of Outlaws A-Mains and five laps longer than the usual feature at Williams Grove.
The winner of this week’s main event will earn $4000.
This will be the first of three Outlaw Tuneup nights at Williams Grove this season.  The others are scheduled for July 16, the week before the WoO-sanctioned Summer Nationals and again on September 24, the week before the National Open.
All three Outlaw Tuneup nights will be part of the Goodyear Diamond Series, which will carry a separate point fund sponsored by Goodyear.
The May 7 program will also include the 358-sprints.
Qualifying is scheduled to begin at 7:30.
The World of Outlaws will sanction a two-day event at Williams Grove on Thursday and Friday, May 13-14.
Williams Grove regulars, also known a the Pennsylvania Posse, swept all four WoO races run at this historic speedway in 2009.  The Outlaws will be out to break their Grove losing streak with a lineup that includes 4-time defending series champion Donny Schatz of Fargo, ND, 20-time champion Steve Kinser of Bloomington, IN, Jason Meyers of Clovis, CA, Joey Saldana of Brownsburg, IN, former champion Danny Lasoski of Dover, MO, Hall of Famer Jac Haudenschild of Wooster, OH, and former King of California Tim Kaeding of San Jose, CA.
Some reserved seats remain for both nights.  Credit card orders are accepted at 717.697.5000.
