MORE THAN $215,000 IN JULY SPRINT CAR PURSES AT WILLIAMS GROVE

MECHANICSBURG, PA -- Williams Grove Speedway will host a double header racing program featuring sprint cars and 358s on Friday evening, June 25.
The first heat is scheduled to start at 8:00.
A rich month of July is planned for the sprint car teams at Williams Grove with six dates reserved for the speedway’s premier division.
Total sprint car purses for the month will exceed $215,000.  That figure does not include purses for the 358 division.
The Grove’s month of money begins on Friday night, July 2, with the running of the Mitch Smith Memorial, which is the crown jewel of Pennsylvania Sprint Speed Week.
The race, which is named to honor the memory of the Hall of Fame sprint car driver from Linglestown, will pay $10,000 to the winner.
The Mitch Smith Memorial will be part of the Goodyear Diamond Series.
A fireworks display will also be presented to open the holiday weekend.
Another program of sprint car and 358 racing is set for July 9.  Like the June 25 event, bonuses will be offered contingent upon the winner’s starting position and there will be no time trials.
The season’s second Outlaw Tuneup is slated for July 16.  Time trials will set the lineups and the winner of the 30-lap feature will earn $4000.
The 358s will also be part of the July 16 program.
On Friday and Saturday nights, July 23-24, Williams Grove will present the Summer Nationals sanctioned by the World of Outlaws.  The winner of the July 24 main event will collect $20,000.
Another sprint car/358 program is set for the final Friday of July.
Reserved seats are still available for the Summer Nationals.  Credit card orders are accepted at 717.697.5000.
