GROVE SPRINT CARS PLUS RISLONE 360 NATIONALS AUGUST 6

MECHANICSBURG, PA -- Williams Grove Speedway will host a sprint car double header on Friday evening, August 6, highlighted by the Rislone 360 Nationals.
The Grove’s own sprint car stars also known as the Pennsylvania Posse will compete in one portion of the program with heat races and a 25-lap feature lined up according to the speedway’s handicapping system.
The Rislone 360 Nationals sanctioned by URC was originally scheduled June 4, but rain forced postponement until August 6.
This event will begin with URC time trials at 7:30 followed by qualifying heats, a C-main if necessary, a B-main and a 25-lap feature which will pay $4000 to win.
In addition to the URC regulars, the Williams Grove 358s will be eligible to compete and current Tool Shed of America point leader Pat Cannon will be one of the favorites.
Cannon won the inaugural Rislone Nationals in 2006 and is enjoying another excellent season with three victories at Williams Grove where he is the all-time leading winner in the  358 division.
With more than $20,000 in the Rislone 360 Nationals purse, there is sure to be plenty of competition for Cannon.
Other former Nationals winners include Ed Aiken - 2007, Kenny Adams - 2008 and Aaron Ott in 2009.
In addition to Cannon, one of the other favorites has to be 6-time URC champion Curt Michael, who has been very competitive in several attempts in the Grove’s premier division this season.
Michael, 37, of Ocean View, Delaware, owns four career victories at Williams Grove Speedway.
URC has one more scheduled appearance at Williams Grove, which is set for Friday, August 27.
