KASEY KAHNE AND KYLE BUSCH TO RACE AT WILLIAMS GROVE AUGUST 5
MECHANICSBURG, PA -- Williams Grove Speedway will host the Ollie’s Bargain
Outlet “Battle at the Grove” charity event featuring NASCAR stars Kasey Kahne
and Kyle Busch on Thursday evening, August 5, at 6:45.
This event will include complete racing programs for sprint cars powered by
360 c.i. engines, and super late model stock cars.
Kahne will compete in the sprint car portion of the program and Busch will
return to drive a late model.
Kahne is no stranger to this historic half mile speedway having won the
sprint car season opener on March 5, 2000, before going on to stardom on the
national level.
Busch made an impressive debut at the Grove in last year’s Ollie’s event.
Despite never having seen the speedway prior to his first start, he ran
side-by-side, lap after lap, with eventual winner Jason Covert. That was just
Busch’s second ride in a late model and finishing second to one of
Pennsylvania’s most successful stock car drivers indicated that the current
Nationwide Series point leader can be competitive in anything he chooses to
drive.
Net proceeds from the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet “Battle at the Grove” will
again be donated to charities designated by the Kasey Kahne Foundation and
Ollie’s Bargain Outlet.
The Kasey Kahne Foundation was created by Kasey Kahne to raise and donate
funds to charitable organizations that care for chronically ill children and
their families.
Ollie’s Bargain Outlet is the area’s largest retailer of closeouts, salvage
and surplus merchandise. Founded in 1982 , Pennsylvania-based Ollie’s Bargain
Outlet operates more than 85 stores in nine states.
Previous winners of the sprint car portion of Ollie’s Bargain Outlet events
include World of Outlaws star Lucas Wolfe in 2007, Jason Johnson of Eunice, La.,
who earned a record $56,000 payoff in 2008 and Williams Grove star Brian
Montieth last year.
