TWIN 20s ON AUGUST 20 AT WILLIAMS GROVE

MECHANICSBURG, PA -- An annual attraction will get a facelift this season when Williams Grove Speedway presents twin 20-lap features for sprint cars on Friday evening, August 20.
Several years ago a new format was introduced to streamline the Jack Gunn Memorial Triple 20s and a similar procedure will be used for the Twin 20s.
Time trials will open Friday night’s program and the fastest twelve drivers will be locked into the first 20 lap feature.
The remainder of the competitors will be divided into two qualifying races.  The finishes of these races will determine the remaining starting spots for the first feature.
The winner of the first feature will draw for inversion of the second feature.
Each 20-lap feature will award points toward both the Lawrence Chevrolet track championship and the Goodyear Diamond Series championship.
The Sidewinder division will also make its Williams Grove debut on August 13.
Qualifying is scheduled to begin at 7:45.
The Twin 20s has always been a very competitive event.  No driver has been able to sweep a Twin 20s program since Fred Rahmer did it fifteen years ago.
Over the past three runnings of the Twin 20s only Mark Smith has been able to win twice.  He won in 2007 and again in 2009.
Adam Wilt won the other half of the Twin 20s last year.
Because each feature is a point race the Twin 20s could dramatically alter the top ten in the Lawrence Chevrolet point standings.
Greg Hodnett is the current point leader and could be headed for his first track championship at Williams Grove.
