GROVE SPRINT CARS AND URC ON KIDS NIGHT AUGUST 27
MECHANICSBURG, PA -- Williams Grove Speedway will present a sprint car
double header on Friday evening, August 27, featuring the Grove’s premier
division along with the season’s final appearance of the United Racing Company
(URC).
Racing is scheduled to begin at 7:30.
August 27 will also be Kids Night at the speedway.
There will be games and prizes for the kids throughout the evening.
The Moon Bounce and Giant Slide will be set up in the infield. There will
be Big Wheel and bike races on the track. And clowns will be roaming the
grounds to entertain the young race fans.
A fireworks display will also be presented.
URC’s last appearance at the Grove on August 6 drew several of the area’s
top sprint car drivers to compete with the traveling organization.
Daryn Pittman, the ex-Outlaw from Owasso, Oklahoma, bolted a 360 cubic
inch power plant into his Leland’s.com sprint car and led every lap to score his
first URC victory.
In addition to Pittman, other Williams Grove sprint car regulars who
competed with URC on August 6 include Aaron Ott, who won the Ollie’s Bargain
Outlet Battle at the Grove a night earlier, along with Brian Montieth, Mark
Smith and Gerard McIntyre.
Williams Grove’s 358-c.i. sprints will be eligible to compete with URC as
well.
Current Tool Shed of America point leader Pat Cannon finished second to
Pittman on August 6.
Other 358 stars who competed with URC include 4-time champion Cory Haas,
Blane Heimbach and Jessica Anderson.
URC will be led by defending champion J. J. Grasso, 6-time champion Curt
Michael and former Williams Grove champion and Hall of Famer Kramer Williamson.
