4-DIVISION PROGRAMS AVERAGING 103 CARS FOR SATURDAY SERIES
MECHANICSBURG, PA -- The Saturday Night Series returns to Williams Grove
Speedway on August 28 with another 4-division program of racing.
Super sportsman cars will be the featured attraction along with 358 c.i.
late models, street stocks and 4-cylinder stock cars.
The first heat is scheduled to start at 6:30.
General admission will be just five dollars for this event.
Because of the amount of racing involved and the car count expected to
exceed one hundred, a Saturday Night Series event at Williams Grove remains one
of area dirt track racing’s entertainment values.
The winged sportsman class has been averaging 34 cars per race at the Grove
this season. That is exactly the number of sportsman cars which were in
competition at the most recent Saturday Night Series event on August 21.
The late models have been nearly as consistent with an average of 29 cars
per meet after the first ten races. And like the sportsman cars the late models
matched their season’s average on August 21.
The street stock division has increased its number of participants and is
averaging a full field of 24 cars in their eight appearances at Williams Grove
this season.
The 4-cylinder stock cars have been averaging 16 competitors per race.
That means the four divisions have been producing an average of 103 cars
per event. That also means a great deal of racing for a five dollar ticket.
Following this week’s program only four SNS events remain. The dates for
those races will be Friday evening, September 10, Saturday night, September 25,
Saturday night October 9, and Saturday night, October 16.
