53 DATES ON GROVE SCHEDULE-- TEST AND TUNE MARCH 18, RACING BEGINS

MECHANICSBURG, PA--The 2012 Williams Grove Speedway racing schedule has been
released with 53 dates listed.
Sprint car racing will be the featured attraction on 35 race dates. Racing
begins on Friday evening, March 23 following a special test and tune session
on Sunday afternoon, March 18. Test and tune day will allow fans to watch
practice sessions for sprint cars, 358-sprints, super sportsman cars,
358-late models and street stocks, and general admission is free.
Once again many special events dot the schedule including six nights of
racing sanctioned by the World of Outlaws. The first night of the May 11-12
Spring Showdown will include The Morgan Cup Challenge, a special match race
between the stars of the World of Outlaws and the Pennsylvania Posse. Other
WoO dates include the The Summer Nationals July 20-21 and National Open
weekend September 28-29.
The All Stars will return to challenge the Pennsylvania Posse on April 27
and again on June 8.
Williams Grove will host two Pennsylvania Speed Week events this year on
Thursday and Friday, July 5-6. The annual Mitch Smith Memorial will be
presented on the second night.
Other popular specials for the sprint cars will also return this season
beginning with the Tommy Classic on April 20 followed by the Keystone Cup
date on May 25, the Twin 20s August 17, the Jack Gunn Memorial Triple 20s
August 31 and the season ending Fall Fest on October 20.
In addition to the Grove’s premier sprint car division, various other
classes of race cars will be in competition throughout the season.
The 358-sprints have been scheduled on seventeen dates this year, sixteen of
which will find them sharing the pit area with the 410s. The 358s will also
be eligible to compete in two of the three scheduled URC-sanctioned events
for 360-sprint cars including the Rislone Nationals on August 3.
ARDC midgets will make three starts at Williams Grove this season. The
midget cars will be on the card for both All Star races.
The super late models will make their lone appearance with the sprint cars
on March 30.
And the Saturday Night Series will be back again this year with the opener
for super sportsman cars, 358-late models and street stocks set for April
21. Saturday Night Series races will carry a regular general admission price
of $5.00.
