Fan Favorite Twin 20’s At Williams Grove This Week, URC Nationals/Kids Night Aug. 22
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Mechanicsburg – Williams Grove Speedway will present Twin 20’s for 410 sprints this Friday night, August 15, at 7:30 pm.
Also on the racing program will be the ARDC Midgets.
Each of the 20-lap mains for the Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprints will pay $2,500 to win with time trials setting the heat and feature starting grids.
Fireworks are also a part of the Twins show.
The event is part of the 2014 Diamond Series at the track of which Greg Hodnett is the current point leader.
Adult general admission is $18 with youth priced at just $8.
An exhibition of restored race cars from the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing will take place in the speedway infield prior to the races on August 15 and track time for the cars is on tap as well.
Pat Cannon and Logan Schuchart split the Twin 20’s at the track last season.
Only twice in 39 runnings of Twin 20’s at Williams Grove has one driver swept the double features.
Van May accomplished the feat in 1983 while Fred Rahmer pulled it off in 1995.
The running of the August 15 Twin 20’s will play a vital role in helping to determine the 2014 track champion.
Any bad luck or mechanical malfunction could sideline the front-runners from staying in the title fight.
Going into the show, Don Kreitz Jr. currently leads Greg Hodnett in the title chase.
August 22 will be Kids Night for the Friday night youth at Williams Grove Speedway, featuring games, prizes, a dunk tank and other activities along with an autograph sessions for the kids.
Racing on August 22 will be the 410 sprints and the rescheduled URC Sprint Rislone Nationals for 358/360 sprints, paying $4,000 to win the 25-lap main event.
