I stopped for a minute or 2 just up from you guys. I was in the brown 88 plymouth voyager van. I should have asked. a woman walked past me wearing a red sweatshirt and white shash.

Heard there were some crews that obviously didn't get the word and showed up at the track. Any truth to this? I am personally disappointed that the Grove didn't make a better effort towards getting the track ready.

Bill Davies (sp?) towed in on an open trailer from Indiana. I told him there was to be some chili in about an hour, he decided to head back home. I wished him well and thanked him for making the tow. :cheers2:

Mr. Davies used to tow in for opening weekend a few years back! One year he came up and for some reason in which I forget, instead of racing he came to Silver Spring! He was so fascinated that he bought a very old sportsman and about once a month he would tow in from Indiana and race at the Springs! He became friends with Wild Bill Heckert and I haven't seen or heard anything from Mr. Davies since Bill's death!

Its always great to see friends make the drive in from philly for some chili and bags. After the disappointment of the races being cancelled, the day turned out pretty well. Chili hit the spot....

Drak, Hope grammy didnt cry to much on the way home after getting his azz whipped all day :buttkick: :handoverhead:
