I could be wrong but I think if you aren't selling the chili but rather, accepting donations, you don't have to have licensing or certification. Much the same way that a restaurant can give away glasses of wine to patrons without having a liquor license since they are not charging for the wine.

I believe state law requires that one person on site be state certified. Not every single person cooking.

i am certified by the department of agriculture and will be on site.

Mr. American Racer.................are you the same dude that stands in the winter display at the mall each year and tells all the 8 year olds that Santa isn't real?? :thehand: WTF?? Have a beer (sorry Deb  ), relax a while, and think about your life and what is important.

I wonder if your IP address is anything close to hellsfrozeover1?? :pinkelephant:

Cheap? It takes more than money. I believe there is a big a$$ book you gotta look at, an all day course, or is it two days, I forget, plus pass an exam. I don't know the cost for all that since it was paid by the company, but surely it isn't cheap if the gov't is in charge.

Still, its more than a money investment, and to sell hot dogs I doubt its worth it. Besides, if you're gonna be certified, you darn well better have all the stuff needed to practice what you learned. Washing stations, fire extinguishers, cleaning supplies, etc, etc.
