This is 2012...not 1987...We are talking about the ONLY part of a race car that actually makes contact with the racing surface...These guys were running the tires in points paying races...Thats not exactly putting everyone on a level playing field...
I duno..I'll shut up about it now and go to the races!... :cheers2:

I wanted to stay out of this but I will just put this out there.

Yes there are test sessions available at Test n Tune events like the ones at Susky HOWEVER you cannot re-create Race Conditions during a test session. It goes along with the concept of you cannot recreate Game-Like conditions during practice in Stick-n-Ball Sports.

That's all I have to say on the topic and if anyone has any questions they can Private Message me.

All Hoosier had to do to make it right was on the race on May 5th walk through the sportsman pits and say we are testing a new Hoosier on May 19th any team interested in testing the tire let us know. Charge $160 a tire and see how many teams decide to use it. Im sure maybe 10 or so teams wouldve. Show up the 19th give the teams interested the tires they mount them and we race. Pretty simple to me.

Im sure if AR had a newly designed tire on the 93 and not the 99 I can bet I know who would be first in line to complain about it.

IF Hoosier had enough tires to go around at that time. Why manufacture more of an experimental tire than you need for testing until you know it works?

10. Tires – Two types of right rear tires may be used. One, a American Racer 34.0/17.0-15GT track tire with the distinguishing MC on the sidewall. The MC being the prefix to the compound. The MC-2 or MC-3 compound permitted. The second option is a Hoosier 105/17-15 plated (HTMA) spec tire. The HTMA 2 or 3 compounds are permitted.
