What makes a Super Sportsman self starting?

The sportsman run flat top pistons.. If your sprint engine has high compression
pistons you may have a hard time getting it started.. If at all.. Accept out of gear.. If you have a basic stock engine you should have no problem...

There was a time when one or two USAC sprint cars were self starting. I was at Sharon speedway that day. It was when the track was paved and the cars came out onto the track right beside the grandstand. As they say, it was better than _ _ _.
