Fireworks for the 4th of July show
Are they usually pretty good? The kids were wondering and I have no idea.

Kossuth, you better sit down and strap your seat belt on. It gonna be a bumpy ride. You just typed one of the most taboo words ever on this message boardkossuth wrote:Are they usually pretty good? The kids were wondering and I have no idea.

Wait till you hear from the masses that think it's all about them... Nothing for the families and their kids.

I agree too. This is one time of the year that I don't mind fireworks. If you look at Williams Grove's schedule, they have fireworks scheduled 12 times for 2014. I can understand having fireworks for Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day. All the other days, I would rather they put that extra money spent on fireworks and add to the purse for the drivers!!!!hotrodney wrote:This is the one time of the year that I don't mind fireworks.

If they possibly help bring in younger fans to the sport, can't see what it hurts?
Heck. it's better then some of the lame performers brought in for halftime show's in football.

Not only that....some people don't realize that parents who like going to the races, have to bring their kids. So having fireworks once in a while makes the young ones happy and gives the parents a reason to come to the races knowing the kids will enjoy the fireworks.

Silver Springs had the best fireworks - I can still hear Jack Frazier commenting over the PA that someone was grabbing his leg when the lights were turned out.
I can also still hear him yelling "Kill that engine in the pits!" almost every night when the National Anthem was about to be played.
...boy do I miss Silver Springs

I think the fireworks are pretty good, I just wish it would be dark when they light them off.

I agree miss the nights they turned out the lights. Since it costs so much/or takes to long to come back on....

I think they are really good. My kids love watching them from infield because they feel really close and plenty of room to run around. I definitely would recommend. Its fireworks plus sprint cars. Usually I am at local high school getting eaten by bugs.
Quick question: During Speedweek - 4th of July do fireworks go off during intermission or after the race? Whenever I have seen fireworks at Grove it was during Outlaw show and not on 4th of July and they went off during intermission.

I believe the fireworks are almost always during intermission. You would have to go back a good 5+ years since they did the fireworks after the show was completed.
