Car Count

Post by pushman » Fri Jul 11, 2014 11:39 pm

Friday July 11 car count. 23 410's--- 21 358's. I hope the low car count is because of the teams coming off PA. Speedweek and not a sign of things to come. As low as the car count was the fan count was also low. I guess the Grove is hoping to make their money on the outlaw shows and not on the regular Friday night program.

Mark Smith is running Indy Sprint week and you've got Kings Royal going on too.

For me this is always a weekend away from the track — has been for a number of years. It's directly after speedweek and directly before an Outlaw week. That's a good amount of $$$, so I've always thought it was kind of nice to sit this weekend out.

That being said, congrats again to Stevie and the whole 51 group. On fire! :cheers2:

Both features were good and got out of there at a decent hour. I prefer a show like that over the outlaw racing and the crowd they bring any time.

Mark Smith finished 23rd last night in the main event at Gas City, first night of Speedweek. 53 wingless sprints were entered. Jon Stanbrough was the winner.

I stayed home because it was a BULLS##T Outlaw tune up. They don't even run an WOO show, No double file restarts. They don't need TT practice ,half the races are TT races around here, And they just came off of a week of TT speedweek. They need to practice the double file restarts!!!!

They should have packed the track after the second speedweek race, not touched it all week, and then let them "race" around the bottom in dust. That would be the only true outlaw tune-up :laughing7:

I noticed Jordan Givler is now in the drivers seat of Coldren's 07, when did that happen??? I remember in April when Mark announced he was retiring him saying Jordan was going to stay in the 358 because he didn't want to move up to the 410 this year... Guess that changed, lol...

As much as the car count may of stunk, still had a great evening at the races with the family!!!
All "FOUR" Fun!!!
