Saturday night announcer at Williams Grove?

Post by greenflag » Thu Jun 20, 2013 9:37 am

I made my first trip of the season to the Grove for the Saturday Series and I was wondering who the announcer was? I thought that he did a terrific job. Very well spoken, informative and I liked the nicknames! It was a good show and the announcing made it even better.

I don't know his name, but if he is the same guy that does the traveling winged super sportsman announcing ( and I think he is), he is one of the best I've heard around central Pa. You can actually hear the man and understand him. Most of the time I can't hear what the announcers are saying. Then this man comes on and it sounds like a completely different sound system.
Almost makes me want to give up 410's on a Saturday. Almost.

Dave actually goes around the pits before the races start and gathers info for the evening and future events. Yes he is the BEST in the business at this time, and yes he makes the racing more enjoyable just by listening to him announce the race, he has brought almost as many repeat visitors as some race teams have. Good job Dave keep it up and thanks for all you do for the SNS.

I've wondered who announced the Sportsman series for at least two seasons now. Admittedly, I only get to see the sportsman when they are with the 410s somewhere, but I truly think he's one of the best track announcers I've ever heard.

Two thumbs up! :thumbright: :thumbleft:

I agree, he is the best announcer in the area. Great voice for the mic.

Dave did a great job with the late model speedweek shows. I also love how he has a nickname for almost every driver. And at the start of the feature he always says "Were goin in a circle" Love it!! :thumbleft:

Perhaps this guy should replace Bruce. Poor Bruce has made so many misstatements the last few weeks :cwm4:

Dave is a great announcer and a real nice person. He makes the Saturday Night Series.

He also does drag racing announcing at Quarter Aces near Boiling Springs. Dave's name was being bounced around in the list of replacements for Bob Frey of the NHRA. He didn't get the job although listening to the announcer at E-twon Dave is much better!!!!

I tell our SNS gang enjoy Dave while you can because someone is going to scoop him up. Steve Bubb

P.S. Dave's call last week "We need a wrecker to turn four and a surgeon on the front stretch," was one of the best I have ever heard. That brought down the place.

A new sound system at the Grove would help allot.
