Watched the race on Dirtvision and worth staying up late to see Fred finally get his National Open victory. Really great to hear the fans cheering for him and not booing.

Congratulations Mr. Rahmer. As your career closes, it doesn't get any better than winning the National Open and you did it the old fashioned way, YOU EARNED IT!

All the best in the future and thanks for the memories.

I remember as a kid sitting in the pits at Lincoln hoping and praying Rahmer wouldn't win AGAIN, as it always seemed every week he did (and for a while he did). Now I'm older and I wouldn't have wanted anyone else to win this one. A guy that was written off by everyone including some of his fans as washed up, and too old. I'm glad his career didn't end last year as it would of been on someone else's terms, instead he gave it another shot and he took names and kicked a**, just like The Rahmer I always remembered. Thanks Fred!

I can say without a shadow of a doubt that Fred winning the National Open is my best racing memory and I've been fortunate to be around the sport for my entire 27 years on earth. He didn't need this win to validate his career but what an exclamation point it is nonetheless. Without a doubt one of the greatest moments in central Pa sprint car racing history. Moments like those are what this sport is all about. You won't see it on the national news and the NASCRAP experts at ESPN could give a sh!t less but those of us who witnessed it know what we saw. It was history. REAL history. Not Danica making millions for finishing mid pack and showing a little skin once in awhile. Not some cookie cutter corporate fanboy winning a restrictor plate race by pure luck. This is a tough as nails, old school blue collar racer who busted his a$$ and forged his legend from blood sweat and tears and despite being wrote off as washed up, came back on a mission to prove he's still got it. Mission accomplished Fred. You earned it and we are all witnesses. Thank you for giving us another priceless memory on top of all the great things you've already done.
Way she goes.............

Way to go Freddie!!!! You have always come back time and time again to prove the doubters wrong. You have always been thrilling to watch. If this is your last win then it couldn't have been a bigger one. Congrats, You will be missed on the track.

At the same time, this is the same guy who gladly came to see my son's cub scout pack a half an hour before putting heat in the motors back in June.

With all of his accomplishments (and last night has to be the biggest), he has still remembered the kids.

Thank you Fred for many great memories, both on and off the track!

Couldn't have said it better. Fred always did it with hard work and dedication. Sprint car racing will go on without Fred Rahmer but it will not be the same in central PA.

WOW!

What a way to end a career! :thumbright:

With Freddie winning it definitely had that same feeling when Dale Earnhardt won the Daytona 500. All of those who rooted against him couldn't help themselves and cheer for him.
