Just Thanks....

Post by Brian Exner » Sun Dec 08, 2013 7:17 pm

I don't intend to sound 'mushy' on anything of the kind. I just wanted to state that the fans and community of Williams Grove are top notch. My father, Dave Exner ( a Board member for years.....) , has been going to the Williams Grove since the 1950s and looks forward to the weekly two hour trek from Trenton. Though at times frustrated with the decisions of the Grove management (he's been a union man for years and has a developed a special place for the workers of the backstretch food stands. so please bare with his rants...), he still looks forward to the racing and the friendship he's made both in the pits and along the top row of the backstretch closest to the bridge.

I just wanted to thank you for the memories you've made for my father at the Grove. He's a man of pride, so I'll say it for him. You're the best fans in the world, and we truly appreciate every time we enter the speedway grounds. Don't loose the passion for the speedway, and always stick together in terms of principle. Most of you are aware, but some of you just don't know what a privilege you have (My years of Flemington Speedway come to mind...oh, how I miss them...).

Thanks for making every Friday night (and some Saturdays, especially Kid's Night) worthwhile to me. my dad, and my family.

If this is 'mushy', so be it. I write this in honor of my dad (who can't wait until the 410s fire in 2014). We simply love the place. See you in the spring of 2014, God willing.

Very, very well put Brian. My sons and I are spoiled with our "5 minute" drive to the Speedway every Friday night. When you take into consideration the weekly talent, along with the attention we garner from the sprint car family across the country, we are extremely fortunate, and should never take what we have for granted. We all get irritated every now and then, but all in all, we have the best thing going anywhere.
Merry Christmas to all and come on March!!!
