Will WG allow 360's next year, like Selinsgrove? What about Lincoln?

No, not trying to start a rumor or anything but I read this off the Mid Atlantic Stock Car Facebook page that Lincoln will replace the thunder cars with 305s

There was an article on Susky's web site that a number of local track met with French about the Race Savers Sprint Series.

That's sad news. Now who is going to run the track in for the 410's?

What division will run last when the track is run in with everyone on the bottom groove?

:shifty:

The Grove was always the leader in bringing the newest forms of racing to the east but that is no longer the case. 360's probably outnumber 410's by 20 to 1 and if that doesn't tell you something you are asleep. 305's are the next generation of 360 and 410 owners and drivers. There are more and more of these cars coming to life because the owners know how little it costs to go sprint racing in a 305 and mostly because the rules are so strictly enforced. Ignoring these two forms of racing is absolutely asinine and total proof of having no foresight into saving 410 sprint racing.

This is all well fine great and dandy BUT...

What happens when the guys who have more money than most others want rules changed? They'll out dollar everyone and you'll be left with the same debate everyone is having now. 305's are great and all but the amount that you race for in them doesn't come close to putting a dent in offsetting the cost. If they ran for $500 to win I would consider moving to a 305. The problem is, I can make just as much (some instances more) money finishing top 5 at some tracks than what the winner of a 305 feature makes. Which makes more sense? Spend the money to get a big car and race for less? Or stay in a class that is relatively cheaper (micro sprints) and still have some cash in my pocket at the end of a night?

Whatever your reasons are for whichever class you prefer to run is your own business. I'm not inviting anyone in particular to the party, I'm just saying that the 305's and 360's are currently the ladder in this area to get to a 410. Go karts, 1/4 midgets, micros, midgets.....each one costs more than the last, but that's the way it is. Also, if you look carefully into it, the rules for 305's and 360's have remained very consistent up to this point. Predicting what will happen in the future is any ones guess and i don't care to comment on that. I can only say that any local club that would change the rules on either of these classes would immediately make their cars illegal to run anywhere else in the country....why would you want to do that?

The 305s are really gaining support and I can see them getting races as a support division at many tracks over the 358's and Super Sportsman. They bring more cars and race for 1/3rd the purse so Promoters love them. I think S-Grove will be just fine with the 360s. I also believe like many others on here that the 358's will all be 360s in a few years.

I see equal parts going down to 305 as going up to 360... I've also talked to a lot of SS drivers that have said if the 305's ever got a home they would make the switch...

We have a 358 in house for my grandson to make the jump from karts next year but that plan is to run a year at Susky Test and Tune. From there when it is time to go racing we will decide. The problem with someone very young is seat time and if the 305's start to run a lot local you are back in the boat of 50+ cars and even when you are running pretty good that can leave you sitting with very few laps for your money. One track, with a 410 seems to be a good option, especially when that is where you want to end up anyway. We will see, we have a year or more to see what shakes out. :thumbright:

Rules cost money, I'd like to see a 10.5" right rear tire class, like in drag racing with no motor rules.
On the subject of cubic inches, may you should let the WOO cars run 500 inch motors so they don't have to take provisionals to make the A main :laughing7:
