Jack Gunn Memorial Down Under 410 Sprints format

Post by topwing66$ » Tue Aug 26, 2014 6:50 pm

Is it just me or am I not the only one that finds the format for this Friday nights Australian Rules for 410 Sprints confusing?
I have looked over and read the format several times and still find myself scratching my head.
If you one who does understand, could you please explain to me in laymans terms. Either way I plan on being there as usual.

Thanks :D

It's not just you.
I am thinking that I won't really understand it until after I see it.

Basics:
Time trials
1st round Heats are inverted from time trials except the really slow cars are put to the rear.
2nd round heats, inside and outside rows are switched between heats (so drivers race different cars)

Feature lined up by points

This system creates NO interest in watching the heat races other than the actual action on the track . I like NORMAL formats where you know where a guy has to finish to get into the invert or the actual feature. If people like these types of formats then move to another country that uses them and watch them there. Or , bring a calculator and a pen and paper. :laughing7:

I want to see someone run a program for sprints like they do for Speedway Motorcycles.

Majority of these format changes seem to forget one thing, that the tracks are often too narrow early on for passing anyway.

I think we should run the kings royal format every weekend, simple to understand for everyone. This down under format is too complicated and confusing for fans. It's nice they are doing something different but nobody understands it

skip the TT and fancy formats and just give me an old fashioned handicapped show. :coolshades:
Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?

I like something different, You have to try it once, I was thinking the 2nd round of heat races were inverted? All TT shows almost always suck! I like Daved m speedway cycles but that would be a lot of heat races. It would be good if they just ran like AMA Grand National motorcycles, It gives you a chance to recover from bad TT. With sprint cars you have no chance!!! I'll be there like every week.

Brent, any announcer worth being paid can update the fans as the night progresses.. It really isn't that hard.
