Williams Grove Car Counts?

Post by wentworth09w » Sat Apr 11, 2015 8:35 am

Any reason why the car counts have been a bit lower this season? Seems all of the big players are still there. Since Port and Lincoln race on the same night I would expect both of those tracks to have worse car counts than Williams Grove but they seem to be about the same or better.

Thanks,
Jeff.

I'm gonna guess opening day was low due to cold and last night due to all the rain. Lances rig broke down heading to the track so there's one missing. Give it a few weeks and they will be back to a little higher car counts.

1 Kokomo In.
1 Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway
1 Gas City I 69 In.

Yeah its the weather. Dewease and Buckwalter had rig problems. Eventually Robbie Stillwaggon and Davie Franek are going to be at the Grove most weeks. Justin Barger as well. What about GMac?

There are also a few teams that have decided to leave it in the shop vs racing.

I'm sue the weather had major roles in counts both nights. And im sure track conditions as well. It's not just Williams Grove that they're a concern. Trailway had 7 cars

Being it that in this day and age most of the drivers have jobs, the Grove racing Friday's is likely a factor.

I think the Grove will be hurting for car counts on regular shows this year. Wilt and McIntyre stated they do not have funds to run Fridays.

Nobody has the money to race twice a week but they all have big haulers.....

If a hauler is paid for then it is costing you nothing other than insurance and upkeep. Where if you race you have the fuel bill for the hauler, the fuel bill for the racecar, the tire bill for the racecar, and the additional wear on the motor and associated driveline components.

Me thinks the tire bill and associated wear on the racecar trumps everything else though. Thus folks have to pick and chose where and when they run. Lastly a lot of these guys/gals are part time racers and hold regular jobs during the week. I know I can't make every Friday race because I can't ask to get off early every Friday ( 1.5 hour trip to the grove from home and a 1 hour drive to get home ), and I would imagine the worker racers would be in a similar situation.
