It was a clutch explosion in his own front-engine dragster that prompted "Big Daddy" Don Garlits to build a rear-engine TF'er, and not long after that, everyone had switched over to that configuration. Very cool collection of pics, Kevin! I wonder where the body ended up on the funny car in the second pic?
