LANCO/Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway held the Super 600 Showdown for 600cc Micro Sprints on Saturday with 92 cars taking to the track for action in the 600s and an additional 17 in the 1000cc Sidewinder class. A gallery for this event can be found at: http://greggobst.smugmug.com/gallery/5340423_HjLTB

Jim Campbell # 3 and Billy Ney # 83 battle in the ill-fated wingless feature...

Luke Thomas # 2TT, Chris Snyder # 26 and Jan Luckenbaugh # 99L battle thiree wide.

Sammy Casella # 7s, Frank Jarkiewicz # 48J and Ryan Wilson # 9M race it out.

Aaron Spahr # 17 leads Rohan "Cobra" Beasley in the Sidewinders

Dave Dimaio # 6 and USAC Sprint and Midget star Brady Bacon # 55 in wingless action.

I tried a bunch of little long exposure mini-tripod shots in the pits during one of the intermission but there were just way too many people walking in front of the camera since they let the fans into the pits during intermission. This is one of the salvageable shots. I still have a long way before I master this type of shot the way Mike has.

Denny Landvater flips his Sidewinder.

Lex Burritt flips his # 35 during the heat races...

Brent Marks gets upside down in the wingless feature

Another attempt at long exposure shots in the pits. There are too many lights in the pits at LANCO to really make this sort of shot be effective I think.

They had a wingless show earlier in the year. This one was 12 600s running against 12 1200cc Sidewinders as a special deal. I think they are trying to work a few wingless shows into their schedule each year now. More and more tracks are seeing the light and more drivers are getting a little wingless seat time which makes these shows run so much smoother.

Thanks sir. I still don't know how the right rear was smoking. The track was very moist all night so this baffles me.

great shots, thanks for all the pics, you photographers are the GREATEST....
hey Greg, I got a great way to get the wingless thing moving.... get the tracks to make 1 point night a month wingless in all from the 410's to the 125's (micro's) now that would be great....
