This Saturday is the Butch Renninger Memorial at Port Royal. The 33 lap late model feature with an increased purse pays $2500 to win, $1300 for 2nd, $900 for 3rd. $33 to lead a lap. Total purse with lap money over $10,000. Trophies will be presented to the latemodel, prostock, and enduro winners, with extra money in the prostock and enduro purses.

This year, former late model competitor, Ed Spencer will be on hand to be honored as the recipient of the Butch Renninger loyalty, dedication, and determination award.

Thank you to all who are making this possible.

Great job on the purse. That's a nice payout.

This will be my 1st Renninger Mem. I hope Port gets a great tunout of cars and the weather holds up. As you say T, if indeed this event is growing, I hope to soon see it become a $10,000 to win event that attracts a huge field of cars. Fans need to show promoters and race teams alike this area is more than those wing things. Good luck to all Saturday night!

I'm heading back to the track shortly. I can't wait for tonight's action. Plus we get to pay our respects to a good man. RIP Butch. :cheers2:

I guess more money gives drivers the right to run over the person infront of them. those front runners last night drove into the side of the people they wanted to pass. Congrats to mike lupfer on a solid finish without touching anyone!!!!

I have a question. I heard on the pit area intercom before the late model feature that the first half of the race they were going to count caution laps as well, but the second half would be all green laps. They ended up counting the whole race green laps. I'm glad they didn't count cautions because there seemed to be one every two laps for the first half, but what caused the change back? Drivers complain or what?

thanks Pitside.. I'll pass the message along to Mike.. Ya gotta stop by the hauler sometime and introduce yourself.. I got something for ya..

Guess it got pretty wild after Rine got to his pitspot.. He had someone there waiting for him.. I was down at the pitshack getting a "legal" right rear teched.. Anyway.. It is what it is..

Quit your whining about Rine! He is flat out the best late model driver in the area!

Nahh... have to disagree with ya on that.. I'd say Covert is the best in the area.. He can win on different tracks all over the area.. Just not a select few..
