Hagerstown Speedway in 2014 will be promoted under the leadership of Ernie Davis and Rick Jones. I can only hope this is a solid move for Hagerstown having some new blood running the operations. I firmly believe that Ernie Davis will revitalize the track. I hope some new clay is on order. There will be a meeting at the teardown barn on October 30 for race drivers, owners, and mechanics at 6:15.

Hagerstown's weekly program has been stale for quite some time. The last 2 seasons have seen less racing for the Late Models, and more geared towards the Limited Late Models. It will be interesting to see what transpires from this, and I'm reserving my judgment until after this meeting. However, I do think Ernie will be a racer's promoter. Other than no racing at all, I don't things could be any worse than what the track had been under it's current management. I hope my optimism remains toward an exciting 2014 season.

Personally, I consider Hagerstown my home track. I live about 20 miles from there. I still attended more shows there than other tracks, but I managed to go elsewhere combined many other Saturday nights this past season.

Great news!!I'm hoping they will put the "speed" back into Hagerstown speedway. The only thing that's been missing is the effort in the track prep. :yessss:

I hope they can get some of the big shows from their past back too. Grew up in Hagerstown and this may be the first year I did not attend a single race there.

This is good news, and I hope it gets the track moving in the right direction. I live in northern Virginia, and I used to make the trip to Hagerstown a few times a year. It wasn't that long ago when you could go there and be assured of a full field or near full field of quality late models and decent car counts and racing in the lower divisions. The last two years, it just hasn't been worth it. The number of dates when they ran a full card to late models, late model sportsmen, and pure stocks was down, and the car counts weren't good. The last few times I went the track prep was poor and racing matched it. It wasn't worth the 2 hour drive, and I was starting to wonder if we wouldn't soon add it to the list of tracks that are no more. Here's hoping the new promoters can make it worth the trip, again.

I would like to see Hagerstown go back to Sunday night racing with Super Late Models and Super Sprint Cars every week!

Oct.30 meeting location has been changed to the Wilson Ruritan on Rt.40.

I'm looking forward to being in attendance!

The first thing Ernie Davis mentions is Randy Grove! :yessss: Now we have someone who knows what a great racing surface is and more importantly how to make it happen!I have a feeling that Hagerstown is coming back.

If Randy comes back to help with the track then the track crew will finally be allowed to do what is needed...in the past the crew have been "talked" to about having the track too fast....this info came from a track worker
