I wish they could bring back the old days where you knew most of the drivers in the series. I am afraid the damage has been done. Why would a young guy want to run this series when he can make alot more money and exposure in the Brian France circus. I just think recovery will be difficult to say the least.

I just saw on ESPN that both sides have reached an agreement to merge series. Hopefully the unification can salvage what's left of American indy car racing.

This is great news for us open wheel racing fans. I'd rather watch Indy Cars any day over NAPCAR, but I'm afraid it might be too late. There's just so much hype and histeria related to NASCAR that Indy Cars just got steam rolled flat, over the past decade or so. I guess the best we can hope for in the short run is a meaningful Bump day at Indy this year.

I use to go to the CART races at Nazareth Speedway, and it was neat racin' back then :!: :thumbleft:

Later the IRL was tryin' to kill off CART :!:

Done deal. Now let's all just agree that Sarah Fisher is the best thing in IRL/Cart racing and move on with our lives.
