JONESTOWN, PA-The Linda's Speedway 2008 season opener will have to wait one week longer as rains all night Thursday and Friday morning with the threat of even more rain at night made the decision to cancel an easy one for management. The 10th annual Steve Buch Memorial season opener will now take place next Friday, April 11 with gates opening at 5:30 and hot laps at 7:00 and racing at 7:30. The 600cc Micro Sprints and the 270cc Micro Sprints will be going in feature races that will pay $600 to win. The Chargers now with an increased purse for 2008 will also be on the show as will the popular 125cc Micro Sprints. The Legends and Slingshots are invited to take part in three schedule hot lap sessions during the racing program. The Legends and Slingshots will be racing on the quarter mile on April 18 along with the 270cc and 600cc Micro Sprints.

The season opener in 2007 saw Ross Perchak take the big win in the 270cc Sprints with Lex Burritt winning the 600's and Nick Ruhl coming out on top of the Charger field. All three of those drivers are expected to be in the field this Friday to try to make it two opening night wins in a row.

One lucky boy and one lucky girl will both go home Friday, April 11 with a brand new bicycle thanks to one of the 600cc Micro Sprint teams who would prefer not to be named for their donation. Linda's Speedway is the place to be in 2008 as adult grandstand admission remains at just $6. What a deal!

Vinyl Visions Lettering of Bethlehem has come on board as the 2008 Slingshot point fund sponsor and this means the 2008 Slingshot track champion will earn $500. RTS Chassis will again sponsor the 270cc and 600cc Sprints and once again the point championship in both those classes will earn $1000. We are still looking for $300 point fund sponsorship for the Chargers and the 125cc Sprints. Nightly sponsorship is also available for regular shows at an amazing low cost of $200. Call the speedway office at (717) 865-5330 or Tom Chorpenning at (717) 319-2391 for more details.
