interesting racing/ PA Turnpike find

Post by Brent Leach » Sat Dec 18, 2010 1:56 am

We are planning on taking a bicycle ride next summer on a section of the "Abanded Turnpike" near Breezewood. While researching the area I came upon this interesting story.

Thanks for the info Brent, very, very interesting. I wonder how title, ownership, or access was attained, given original right-of-way leases? Seems like another example of what big money can obtain.

I will check again, but I was told years ago that Jack Roush and another invester had purchased the tunnel from the state.

I can't wait to go out there this summer. Thanks for the link . It's hard to believe that a secret can last this long without anyone getting to the bottom of it. I find this all very interesting the more I read about it.

That's really cool, knew of the abandoned tunnels but never heard about the testing going on there. That building does have an area 51 look to it. Very interesting story

No , I suggest NOT to go near there . It's private property and the State Police are around all the time.
