What a weekend. Friday night was magical as Spencer Massey and Ron Capps became the quickest drivers in NHRA history. When Tim Wilkerson said a Funny car would go under four seconds, not many thought he was correct in his prediction. Then Capps goes out and does it. Massey follows it up with his massive pass in Top Fuel. Capps said he was not going to back up the run to get the national record. Massey took a stab at it second round Saturday but went up in smoke.

Greg Anderson's new Camaro is flying. Jason had him in the final but broke a valve spring at about 800 feet. Anderson said Line will have a Camaro at Bristol. That is the 100th win for Ken Black.

Eddie Krawiec was real emotional after winning the motorcycles. To win at the track where he was the former manager was a very big deal. He knew Hector was faster, so Eddie said he went into the lights to try and cut a .020 light. No need since Hector red lit. Eddie did say his first thought was to shut off the bike, coast it down the track waving to the fans and just soaking up the moment. But he realized it would be a long walk to the turn off area if he did that.

A number of the drivers went up to New York, many for the first time. Clay Millican was laughing saying he thought Memphis was big.

By the way, I was talking to one very well known NHRA figure and it appears, if everything works out, he will be coming to the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing to visit and talk to fans. More information coming up! Steve Bubb
