Hagerstown or not?
Looking forward to a rare chance to see a race outside of Jersey on July 28. I had originally planned on going to Hagerstown for the big Lucas Oil late
model show but after the speed week disaster and some troubling reports of poor track conditions I am getting "cold feet" so to speak. I will be in Hanover,Pa
in the afternoon and my options are many. The fabulous Lincoln, Port Royal, Selinsgrove or even the Saturday Night show at Williams Grove. I was really looking
forward to my first big late model race in a few years, however I don't want to blow this precious chance to see a good race for once. I know the folks on this
board are full of knowledge and passion, if a little opinionated sometimes, and I am hoping for a little guidance for a " wandering Jersey Boy"
Thanks for your help! Justplanecrazy

SpeedWeek was not a disaster and the track was good. I think the late models go good there.

Any of those tracks you mentioned are great. It's hard to say how tracks are or aren't going to be with this hot weather. I just go to the races because I love it and support the drivers and teams that go to race.

Hey another Jersey boy (formaly from Hamilton Sq), my input would be the SNS show at the Grove... You get Super Sportsmen, 358 LM, and Street Stocks all for only 5 bucks!!! You can bet that deal!
All "FOUR" Fun!!!

First post on here. Hagerstown isn't a bad track. It's actually pretty fast for late models, and IMO every division there puts on a good race. Unfortunately its been so hot it is kinda a crap shoot the kinda shape it will be in just like any local dirt track in this area. I say give it a shot and form your own opinion. You only live once.

Go watch Bloomer and the O show dice it up at Hagerstown. The track will be nice for the Lucas Late Models.

Port is dark this week. Selinsgrove will be a good show,if you follow the locals around here. But if you know the all the Lucas boys then Hagerstown would be your choice!

Re: Hagerstown or not?
Port's not dark this week. They have 410's, 305's and LM's. Tough call about hagerstown. The speedweek show really left a bad taste in my mouth but it is a great track and great facility. If it wasn't too far a drive, I'd take a gamble that they will have the track good for the Lucas Oil LM's. Track conditions's are always a gamble no matter where you go.

What do you mean? 19 second fast time and 20 mph in the turns with everyone hugging the inside rail is not good for for 410 sprints? I'm talking about hotlaps.Shuey21 wrote:poolguy wrote:![]()

The local fans did tell me to come back for a big LM show as the track apparently is a lot better. Not sure why they wouldn't put in a little more effort(and water) for a big 410 race.

No one got injured, no crashes, and Kaufman in victory lane. How can you beat that?
The worst part of that night was trying to keep the sweat from running into your eyes from the extreme heat when the sun was out.

Re: Hagerstown or not?
SNS at WG is Kid's Night, which includes fireworks, big wheel races, bike races, games, snacks and other handouts from the drivers, plus all the drivers and their cars will be in the infield from 4:30 -6:00 so you can say hi and get up close to the cars without a pit pass. If you have kids, it's a can't miss.
Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?

Thanks for the input friends , bags are packed, hotels booked, Hagerstown here we come. Plan B is Lincoln if
the weather turns bad and Hagerstown pulls the plug early enough.
Thanks again ! justplanecrazy
