Checkered flag parade lap

Post by Scott H » Thu Mar 21, 2013 9:35 am

When did racetracks stop doing the ceremonial lap by the winner carrying the checkered flag around the track? How come?

As a kid I remember them doing it for the feature in each division at my local dirt tracks.
Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?

Probably about the same time that they took clutches out of the cars and the Driver became much less visible and accessable!

The Bigger question? What happened to the Trophy Girls in skimpy bikinis?

You really gotta ask? Because they now look like the owner of Williams Grove Speedway! :uzi:
Dirt's for racing, asphalt's for gettin' there!
