Honestly, I don't miss Wind Tunnel. I very seldom watched the program and auto racing has been a huge part of my life for over 40 years so you would think a long time racing fan such as myself would enjoy it. Didn't.

The Speed Channel was not very good. I like Fox Sports1. I have been enjoying the programming and definitely the college football. If you watch Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2, you will see just as much racing as you saw on the Speed Channel.

I was one of the minority of fans who believe that Despain is just a short track racing fan on camera. He is a nascar guy, which is fine. But, he is a nascar guy pretending to be a dirt track fan. I never bought into it. When he sat at his desk and talked to a WoO driver for a few minutes it seemed like everyone bought into it and believed that he was one of us (dirt track fans). That's just my opinion, but, I could be wrong.

Dave Despain origins come from motorcycle racing. He was definitely a dirt track guy but talking NASCAR paid the bills. When the show was two hours long he talked plenty of dirt but when it got cut to one hour it didn't leave much time for dirt stuff and CRAPCAR was getting all the time on the show. During the last year there wasn't hardly any call in's anymore like it was when it first started. Too bad....it was a great show when it started.
