ALL VERY TRUE
My OPINIONS are just that and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of anyone or any track I am associated with!

He is spot on! I've often wondered how many potential new fans or sponsors have been scared away by all the bellyaching we see on some of the racing forums and message boards. If it's been one it one too many! We can be our own worst enemy at times.

i'm sure it's been quite a few. i had several newbies contact me personally and ask if what they saw on the message boards was true. while i love discussing racing and all associated with it, promoters can't take the chance. you can't stop independent message boards from popping up but to have an "official" one takes a LOT of time to micro manage on behalf of the tracks. sometimes the mods probably even agree with what is being posted but know in the best interest of the track they can't leave it alone. kudos to those that do it here. didn't work out for some other tracks though.DavidM wrote:He is spot on! I've seen few track forums last because they are hard to manage. The Forums that have little or no moderation can be down right nasty.Scott Harro wrote:i'm sure it's been quite a few. i had several newbies contact me personally and ask if what they saw on the message boards was true. while i love discussing racing and all associated with it, promoters can't take the chance. you can't stop independent message boards from popping up but to have an "official" one takes a LOT of time to micro manage on behalf of the tracks. sometimes the mods probably even agree with what is being posted but know in the best interest of the track they can't leave it alone. kudos to those that do it here. didn't work out for some other tracks though.
