force fedback steering wheel, gaming console.

Post by mystic1582 » Thu Dec 04, 2008 9:36 am

I'm new to the whole gaming deal but this is what i'm trying to accomplish. Since there is no racing I'm going to hole up in the basement with a sprint car video game. Here are my questions. All i want this for is the sprint car game, not to play other games. What best combination of console, force feedback steering wheel and pedal assy will be the most realistic? I am looking to use the world of outlaws sprint cars game by ratbag/Atari...I have extras pc's laying around. Can i use them or do i have to get the PS2 or will the PS3 be better?? Does the game support force feedback wheels? is there a better game?? I'm looking for realism, not music, not racing schoolbuses at Eldora etc.... :redpepper: Thanks. I have a used up sprint frame I can even adapt some of these items into to make it like a true simulator.

Id use the 2002 WoO game. I'd ask the guys that run the simulators agout the steering wheels they use.

It will be hard to set a wheel up for your game if you can not adjudt it in. On the pc you can do this when you calibrate the wheel. I have 2 different wheels I run but neither really helped the sprint game. If you have a newer pc you can pick up a logitech wheel for around 70 that will work if you want to go higher you can get a logitech G-25 I have one nice wheel but the cost with shipping will be around 250 or so. I also have a tsw I have $$$ in this wheel use it for most of my league racing. Use to run an ECCI wheel when I was racing every night had over 1300 in that wheel. so just depend how much you really want to get into it.

around 35 will get you rfactor game the sprint mods cost nothing I will post links below

I've been looking at getting rFactor for some time now just never got around to it. Is the game that legit? I noticed that there is the possibility of buying an rFactor CD. Has anybody gone this direction or does everyone just download it? It might keep me occupied over X-mas break. Thanks for any input.

I should hopefully be getting rFactor in the next couple of days or so. Just kinda curious what you guys have experimented with so far. Anyone try anything other than the sprint cars? I noticed a couple of non-wings sprints, midgets, and late models on the dirt and wanted to see if anyone tried them yet. Also, I am getting the CD option so what steps do I need to take once I get this. I have a force feedback wheel that I used for some of the other DTR games. Just trying to get familiar with the set-up process so that I can get the game working. Thanks for the help.
