For those of you taking railroad pics, something to look out for this year will be Norfolk Southern's heritage locomotives. The railroad is commemorating all 19 former railroads that make up the current NS system. So far, 7 units have been released, all GE ES44AC locomotives, including one for the Pennsylvania Railroad. Some EMD SD70ACe's will also be part of the program. I don't know where any of these will be running, but they will be a neat sight on a train!

Ive already have run some of the SD70ac units but none in any of the heritage paint schemes yet maybe I will soon.

growing up i Enola,i used to see Penn Central's fleet,daily in the 70's .thanks again for posting

Those all look awesome, but, gosh, what I wouldn't give for the days of the '80s when you could see PRR K4s, Reading T1s, and N&W's big coal haulers on excursions.

Used to go down to the Hamburg to Temple line of the Blue Mountain & Reading to watch that thing run! Glen was a good viewing spot. They had track good enough for 50 mph. Standing about ten foot from the track with that thing coming at you, the ground shaking, the steam and smoke pouring out and the whistle blowing, was that ever a rush! Track ran only feet from Shellhammer's Speedway Sadly it sits in the engine house at Port Clinton Pa (behind the peanut store on route 61) and is probably destined for the Reading Railroad Museum when it is built. There are three other survivors of this same engine class. 2124 is at Steam town in Scranton. 2100 is out in Oregon, and 2101 is at the Baltimore Railroad Museum, painted as the American Freedom Train #1! Except for the 2102 in Port Clinton, the other three are out in the weather rusting, which is a real shame.
