Coal Train in HDR

Post by kitchen king » Tue Oct 04, 2011 6:07 pm

Every two weeks the Gladfelter papermill in Spring Grove gets 110 rail cars full of coal. The cars are parked behind our house for the day. I decised to go back the rail trail and get a few HDR shots... Let me know what ya think..... Thanks Rod

Here you can see the papermill over the horizon.

Nice pics, Rod!! :thumbleft: :cheers2: Liked seeing a Conrail hopper in the mix! From a railfan perspective, with only basically 4 major railroads (NS, CSX, UP, & BNSF) left in the country, it's getting harder & harder to find rolling stock in any of their predecessor company's paint schemes! It's also nice to see railcars that aren't covered in graffiti!! :ahhh:

As another railfan I ditto Swandogg's comments. Great work. If you ever get a chance photo a "straw patch" where some sort of excavator has gouged the hopper car's sidewall.
