I hiked to the summit of Wheeler Peak. It's the highest point in New Mexico. 13,161 ft.
Not bad for a flatlander like me.

I'd need a oxygen tank and a Sherpa for a climb like that. :laughing7:

I do a lot of hiking around home but the highest elevation is around 2400 ft. It doesn't really prepare you for a climb of over 13,000 ft.
The last 1000 vertical ft. were a killer but the view was worth every step. (you should see the scree fields you have to cross)
I might just do it again next year.
