A open tire rule will put 50 % of any low budget team out of business in 2 years. Just think, one track would be a good Hoosier track & another would be a American Racer track & every week the Manufacturers would be coming out with new tires that would make last weeks tires obsolete. Remember all the compounds when there was a open tire rule, you wouldn't have just 2 R/R's, you would have 6-7 in one brand only. The top teams would get tire deals & the average racer would get nothing. It happened in the 80's & it would happen again.

That's what the open tire rule will do. What tire do I run ? American Racer in normal times-SD23,SD30,SD33,SD35, or SD38. Or Hoosier-SC12,SCRD15,SC15, or SC25. Goodyear-100-200. & when it's opened up you better believe Goodyear will be making more R/R tire choices.. This is only the R/R tires listed above. Do you really think the wheel companies care that you need to buy new wheels ? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
