If you think that track was hard & slick & not racey, then you've never seen a hard-slick track. I thought the track was great for opening day with gusty winds and sun.

I`ve seen Dry slick tracks where the groove was black the whole way around

It would be interesting to hear from some of the drivers and Mechanics about what they thought.

True, there wasn`t much passing up front, but I don`t think it was because the track went dry-slick.

i dont think it was dry slick, but it was one groove around the bottom, but pretty good racing none the less, there was a bit of a rough spot in 4, cars seemed to be hitting a bit hard, but that has to expected for the 1st race of the year with new clay. It could have been 2 groove and i still dont think they would have had anything for Nikki Young, i think he drove a flawless race on his part.

I`m sorry too. I literally decided to go over at the last minute.

Gregg`s picture of the crowd was so good I found myself in the photo-I was dressed like an Eskimo-LOL

Bottom line is......I'm darn glad I was there. There was racing and friends. An all around, much better day than we've had for months. Not the best or worse conditions I've ever seen, but at least Lincoln raced. Most would have to agree that an Opening Day race beats 4 months of no racing. And if you don't, maybe you should have stayed home. 'Nuff said!

I enjoyed the fact that I got to see a race people, dont get me wrong, I was was happy as he!! to be there. Just do not think the surface was RACEY..thats all. It wasnt black or dusty which was good. I beleive hard and frozen would best describe it. Yes it had some moisture too.

 If it's wet, how was it hard and frozen. It looked to me that it may have been a little too soft.

When I walked across turn two before and after the races, there was no frozen ground. It looked to be in pretty good shape in my opinion.

Fred and crew did a great job given that it is still Winter. :thumbleft:
