Moody Earns First ‘358’ Win of 2012, New Opportunity
Season Debut in ‘410’ Series Set for Saturday at Lincoln Speedway
Kyle Moody and the Moody Motorsports team are well on their way to a successful 2012 campaign. With just a little over a month into the season, the team has already put the No. 99M Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show (ESOS) 358 sprinter in victory lane during the season opener at Trail-way Speedway. It is the fourth win for Moody in the 358 sprint car division and his first at the track.
In seven starts this season, Moody has accumulated one win, three top-fives and five top-10 finishes. He is currently first in points at Trail-way Speedway and eighth in points at Lincoln Speedway, after missing a race due to an on-track incident the weekend before. Moody is currently fourth in the Central PA 358 Series point standings, 124 points behind leader Pat Cannon and 14 points behind third-place Jeff Rohrbaugh.
“It is amazing to get our first win at Trail-ways,” said Moody. “We’ve been wanting that one for a while. It was the only track that we run on a regular basis that we hadn’t won at. We had debated whether we wanted to go to Williams Grove (Speedway) and at the last minute decided to go to Trail-ways, I’m glad we did. It was definitely worth it to get the monkey off of our back.”
Another exciting opportunity for Moody this season will be his debut in the No. 175 410 sprint car owned by Tony Pietrofitta. The team will be a regular at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday nights, starting this weekend. The No. 99M ESOS 358 sprinter will still see action on Friday nights and special ‘358’ shows.
Moody is ready for an opportunity in the ‘410’ ranks, “I can’t wait to jump in the seat of the No. 175 this weekend,” he said. “Tony and I talked a couple of times on the phone but we finally got the chance to meet last week and I think that we will work really well together. I’m really lucky to get this opportunity and I’m grateful to Tony for having faith in me. I think it says a lot about our program and sponsors on the ‘358’ side. We’ve worked really hard and have gotten tremendous support from sponsors and fans and I think that this opportunity is proof of that.”
