TJ Winegardner rode back to the trailer and drove the rig home.
He is alright other than a headache. The impact put a big gouge in the back of his helmet.
Thank goodness for Butler Built Seats and Head and Neck Restraints.
I had a gopro camera on board with TJ and it was quite an impact
Just really sucks because we started 20th and were running 12th when the incident happened.
Just a question, and this is in no way critizism, but as a former medic I have to ask, if there was obvious damage to his helmet, ESPECIALLY to the back of the helmet, why did he not go to the hospital for evaluation... Damage to the back of the helmet + bad headaches = concussion, and without knowing the severity of the concussion, that could be just as scary of the wreck itself... JMO, and again I'm not critizising anyones personal choice to be transported or not, just expressing my concern is all...
