It is the Keystone Cup of course they do!! They have two races a year that are open tire rules for the 410's...the first race of the season and the Nace Memorial!!
The 2 races that you must run Goodyears are the Keystone Cup and PA Speedweek!! Selinsgrove doesn't make the rules for the Keystone cup and Speedweek.......

It is the Keystone Cup of course they do....just like every other Goodyear track....like PRS!! They have two races a year that are open tire rules for the 410's...the first race of the season and the Nace Memorial!!

Never said Selinsgrove made the rule...........I don't need someone trying to put words in my mouth!!! I'm totally capable of coming up with my own and certainly never shy away from making controversial statements............and yes for the record they said they must follow the rules "impressed" upon them........ :poking: We'll be there anyhow. Sure would like to see the local tracks to tell these tire manufactures to take their "bribe money" and stick it where the sun doesn't shine!!!

They have to follow the Keystone cup rules. The tracks that put the require Goodyears PRS, Williamsgrove, and Lincoln are to blame for the Goodyears at Grandview and Selinsgrove for the K-Cup and speedweek!! Not putting words in anyones mouth....only explaining why the Goodyears are required for the 2 tracks that normally don't run 410s!!

As far as tires go they're ok. But they are a "track tire" which by inception where mean't to save teams money by offering an inexpensive alternative to the open comp tires. These are in fact the most expensive tires we've ever purchased and thats because of the thousand of dollars they bribe the tracks and sanctioning bodies with in order to become the tire of choice. Goodyear doesn't even make the tires in their own plant but use a contractor to produce the tires. We were planning on running a goodyear on the right anyhow but thought we might experiment with another brand on the left rear. Which these type of rules stiffle...........experimenting!!! I thought most of you like teams to experiment?

As for the the so called "top dogs" making them work their learing curve is much shorter then a team like ours thats only run them a hand full of races over the past two years. We only ran 4 or 5 races each of the past two years against teams running twice a week and sometimes more.

But the cats out of the bag. Regardless of brand, we are now stuck with some tire company giving the tracks thousands of dollars each year to become the mandated tire at inflatted prices. I'm curious as to which tire brand we'll be stuck with next year............. :dontknow:

I appologize if some or even many of you that are tired of my constant complianing about tire rules but I've paid for the right to do so and i don't believe I'll stop anytime soon.......... ;)

Goodyears suck, there much worse than hoosiers, and the only reason anyone runs them is their forced to because Goodyear pays thousands of dollars to tracks to make them do so. Not to mention their insanely overpriced

And if you say the "Big dog" teams make them work, just go look at Swindell at the K-ville nationals or the Orange County WoO race last week.

When everyone has to use them, the top cars will still be the top cars, has nothing to do with "making them work" when everyone is at the same disadvantage. It's a simple fact that has been debated over and over. The only people that benefit from a tire rule are the promoters that get their pockets lined with the supposed added money to the point funds. Drop the tire rules, get more cars, get better racing, get more people in the stands, make more money. . . .
