Clair and Steve get along well. It's like family. They work well together, they respect each other, they sit down and make a schedule during the off season and base it off their BUDGET, if the season isn't going as planned they make adjustments on the fly. The original game plan is to run twice a week, Williams Grove and Port Royal, they planned to hit most of the two 410 Sprint Car Speedweeks, most of the Outlaw shows (Locally) , and most of the big races at the end of the year. They also, schedule is USAC Midget Week, the Gold Crown, some ARDC Shows but at the season goes on, things don't go right, he gets collected up into more accidents, has more mechanical issues than expected or anything else that make occur, the schedule changes.

The major difference between a team like Hodnetts or Rahmers is FUNDS. When the 17b is on rail, it runs more. Instead of just running Williams Grove, they add on Port Royal. It has been this way for years. If they had a bigger budget, you'd see the 17b out on the track MORE. When Stevie was running good last year they ran more often. The team had a rough start to the season, lost a car and motor, and had other mechanical issues, too. So they had to adjust accordingly.

They would be out there 2 nights a week, if possible and they are when possible.

Stevie is committed to running the 17b for Clair, and Clair is just as committed to Stevie regardless of what he runs. They work together well; he has a great group of people that put a ton of effort into the car at the track and away from the track. They also, go to the track to win and have fun at the same time.

This is a full-time gig for Stevie and Clair, right now they are just a 1 night a week team, and some weeks twice!

They still won't understand. Some people only see things one way, theirs.

I'd say Steve B races with ARDC,USAC,and a 410 at the Grove because he can win in any sprint car! :yessss: How many other drivers around can say that? Hell how many would even try? :dontknow:

The following is from IBRACN.com

LUCK RUNNING OUT ....UPDATE #1
6/4/2012
FACTS - UPDATE #1 - (6-4-12 @ 9:30 am) - An official statement from the Black Bandit #19 racing team sent to me this morning..... "The #19 team will compete as scheduled and looks forward to competing for wins as it gears up for a run at the 2013 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series championship."

It appears that the Zemco team will need someone other than Stevie to pilot their car.

How bout someone like Brian Paulus? Has PA roots and been running some outlaw shows around the midwest this season. Not sure if he'd have the time with his business in Indiana tho.

which, by having to "adjust accordingly", took steve off the roster for another PA team "taking the wings off" this week.

Its on IBRACN that Danny Lasoski is the lead candidate.

Hmmm, if he gets the ride we'll see the Zemco 1 what, twice a year? I thought he had a ride in the 98 but I've only seen him one weekend at the grove, talk about a "part-time" ride. I have no problem with bringing in outside proven talent to PA cars but some of these guys have so many other commitments that they apparently can't make it here very often. I'd rather see them hire someone that wants to run all the big shows in PA, perhaps even more.

I agree hotrodney. I love having big name drivers come in as well but at the same time, I hope our local car owners keep in mind that there is a very deep pool of young talent available right here at home too. I'd rather see someone like curt stroup get a chance to prove himself in a decent car instead of some driver from out of state who already has 2 good rides get the job. I'm not a big lasoski fan & I hope they go with someone else but it's their car & their signatures on the checks so they've got every right to hire whoever they want.

I have to agree with both of you. One more thing would be bring a more fan friendly driver and not someone that talks down to you. Good example would be Jac, bringing Jac to our area was like a breath of fresh air for the Pa fans, what a great fan friendly driver and a great wheel man to boot.
Not much of a Lasoski fan myself, but like you say I don't pay the bills.

Agreed with all of the above. Also not a big Lasoski fan. Hopefully Leppo parks it on the frontstretch tonight.

yeah me too, i would rather have an unproven young driver to run basically big money time trial shows only, rather than a former WoO champion, multiple knoxville nationals champion and the current winningest 410 driver in the country
