Well I just found this in the hoseheads link.

Newer Generation chevrolets do have the mag/distributor in the front FYI... I thought I read on his FB page, that it was a newer Gen III or IV motor

It was a reworked Yates Ford motor. That came from a worker at Ott. Look for them to run it a lot more.

Only big blocks as far as I know.

Is it a 360 or 410?

I'm not saying this is what he was running . I'm just saying Chevrolet DOES make a small block with the exhaust ports evenly spaced. I remember ZEMCO used one back when Jeff Shepard drove for them. It's an expensive switch because when you build one , everything is different. Cam , headers , heads , injectors, etc..

That chevy is an LS. However there are splayed valve heads for non LS motors. That is what Zemco would have had if they had one when Shepard ran it. Postupack had one when mark smith drove for him too. Illegal now I believe.

Yes, it is a FORD, with some NASCAR engine components being utilized, as someone mentioned above. This is info straight from the source. :silenced:

Yes on the Mark Smith 22M....it had evenly spaced exhaust ports and was a 410 Chevy. Looked like a big block or a Ford from a distance.

Benny Gorden has put his Nascar Truck Series engine in his dirt late model from time to time up here. Mike Blose won the Chili 100 with it one year. That thing just screams!

Not sure on the cubes, but the lack of down nozzle injectors on a Ford doesn't necessarily mean it's a 360. I think the port spacing makes it difficult to place them in a Ford head. :dontknow:

By the way, Mopar motors feature a rear mount mag, and headers and port arrangement like a small block Chevy...but look closely, and you'll see they have 10 bolts per head, like a Ford. Also, the block is a Y-block design, as opposed to the V-block of the other two. :)

:cigar:

Bob Fetter used to have Fords with down nozzles.
