Ok. So it's been determined. Instead of it being a missed call by the officiating crew, Tyler cheated to get the win. Carry on.

I didnt see anything wrong with his restart. I remember Todd Shaffer used to get on it in the middle of 3 and 4 sometimes. I might be wrong, but i thought the leader sets the pace. I dont like Tyler Walker, hence the screen name, but the kid can drive, and i think he is a great addition to the PA scene.

Every restart that has happened like that this year has had the yellow come out with the flagman pointing to the car that left early. He left in the middle of 3 and 4 and you don't start until you are exiting turn 4. Here is from the rules in the port rules book!!

:rulez:
Starts/Restarts:
Any driver passing the pace vehicle without being directed to do so by an official or the
pace vehicle driver will be fined $50.00.
Under no circumstances is the driver to “hot lap” when the track safety lights are yellow.
Cars taking to the track will idle behind the pace vehicle until all contestants are on the
track and the starter gives the “close up” signal, at which time the driver can hot lap up to
the pace vehicle and pull into position.
All cars must be pre-staged for respective events prior to the completion of current event.
Racecars will receive only one push start. If the car stops on the track and needs a second
push start, the car/driver will be deemed “delay of show” and will be sent to the rear of
the starting lineup. This determination is at the discretion of the officials.
If while lining up for the start of an event, it is determined there is an empty position, all
remaining cars will move forward to fill the empty position, thus sliding the rows.
This eliminates the need to “cross over.”
On initial starts, cars must stay in a nose-to-tail formation (no gaps on either side of the
car or in front) until the green flag is displayed and green traffic lights come on. Green
lights will signal the start of the race and drivers may pass another car when they come
on. Green lights will come on when the leader/pole sitter accelerates at the paint line on
the guardrail located at the exit of turn four.
Any front row drivers who have been given one (1) opportunity to start a race by the
starter and cannot properly begin the race will be penalized to start the event in the
second row.
5If the yellow flag is displayed before the leader completes the first lap of a qualifying
race, a complete double-file restart shall be made with the exception of any cars stopping
on the track or entering the pit area. Those cars able to rejoin the race will be placed at
the rear of the field. Only the leader needs to be past the stripe in order for the first lap or
subsequent laps to be scored.
If the yellow flag is displayed before the entire field completes the first lap of a feature
race, a complete double-file restart shall be made with the exception of any cars stopping
on the track or entering the pit area. Those cars able to rejoin the race will be placed at
the rear of the field. The entire field needs to be past the stripe in order for the first lap to
be scored. Subsequent laps will be scored as the leader crosses the stripe.
All single file restarts will take place when the leader reaches the paint mark on the
guardrail located at the exit of turn four.
The leader should not accelerate until he/she reaches this point. All cars must pass
between the cone on the front stretch and the outside guardrails in single-file, nose-to-tail
order. Any driver going to the inside of the cone, or making contact with the cone will be
penalized two positions at an immediate yellow.

Being a Stevie Smith fan and not much for Tyler Walker all i can say is the better car won.Stevie just didn't have anything for the 35 at the end, wasn't sure he could hold off Greg either at the end.Congrats to the 35 team. :thumbright:

He went a little early on the last restart but I really don't think it mattered. He drove a great race and deserved the win. :cheers2:

Say what you want about T-Dub, but he can wheel'um with the best of them.

But what I thought was ironic, everyone was all over him after his tirade/cursing as he walked down pit road Thursday night, rightfully so...yet the majority of the fans at Port last night that lined the fence and stood on top of the bathroom roof as Dub came to victory lane yelled and cursed at him, the same if not worse than he did on Thursday night, even with a lot of small children standing near or beside them....couldn't help but laugh to myself....what a country we live in....

I was going to tell them to look up hypocrite in the dictonary but figured I didn't have time to explain what that was....

Two thoughts:

I dont know if he left early or not...but was it clear enough to be called? Do other people not leave before and not get called? I dont go to the port so i wouldnt know.

If your going to stand around and cuss and shout at him after he wins, i feel bad for you. at least he did it down the pit road and couldnt be heard by every single person/kid in attendance. You hypocrites sat there and did it even worse than he did. You should have been caught on video and shown to the world so you could have been made an @$$ of yourself.

I agree with you there. Cursing him for going on a cursing rant is pretty ironic......

JRN6, thanks for clearing that up. However, I have seen Lafferty, Layton ect. all do it, time and time again, they start to accelerate between 3 and 4 and by the time the hit the line, the pedal is on the floor. I stand in turn four quite a bit, and see this all the time. The late models do it often too. If its a rule, then maybe if when it happens and 2nd place stays with the leader, they let it go, I have no idea. Didnt matter though, Stevie wasnt catching that 35.

2nd place staying on the tail of the leader during a restart...... what a bright idea!!
